Fee:

The course has a one-off fee of £450, payable at the start of the course.
This amount covers your classes, tutorials, exclusive master classes handouts, assessments and any agreed additional support.

You will qualify:

When all attendance and assignments have been satisfactorily completed and personal developments plans, including dancing skills, met to Jacqui’s standards of professionalism.

Attendance:

The course will run with the academic year 2006/7 from 8 – 10pm on Tuesdays and will be suitably demanding. Dancing will be from 8 - 9.30 pm, where we will be joined by the dancers on the intermediate programme, see below.
From 9.30 – 10pm there will be either tutorials or master classes where we will cover theory topics, discuss assignments and where I will arrange support and answer questions. This will be time tabled before the beginning of term and adjusted only as necessary. All attendance will take place at the Southville Centre, Bristol, unless otherwise notified.

Skill Level:

Dancers on the Professional Programme will be expected to dance at the intermediate level.

Top-Up opportunity:

You can top up your skills in any specific area by referring to the programme and dropping in on a 7 or 7.30 pm class. This is a great opportunity to top up your skills in areas which you have missed. We are all beginners in some areas!

Anyone, professional or intermediate students, not having the required level of technique, either general or specific will be asked to attend for temporary additional technique preparation on the top up programme.

From 8 - 9.30 pm: we will be joined by the dancers on the intermediate programme. They will also be offered access to selected master classes but not where space or access of any kind is restricted. They will not have tutorials, assignments or access to those master classes reserved for professional access only. These will be marked on the timetable circulated at the start of term.

Content:

Before the first class of each term a weekly break–down of content will be circulated.
There will be two specialist workshops during the year, as part of the programme and these will be with nationally recognised ‘stars’.

Autumn term will focus on Modern Cairo technique, including walks, directional focus and changes, accents, mini-combinations, veil and tabla.
I am delighted that Heather Burby is confirmed for October 17th to teach a specialist workshop covering combinations of traveling steps including complex floor patterns and changing direction.

Tutorials and Master classes (9.30 – 10pm) will focus on teaching and related issues:
